Seeing English Soccer in Person
That is really what this is all about, right? So let’s talk about getting you into a football ground as soon as possible – maybe with some serious perks.
Getting tickets to the big Premier League clubs is hard – in fact, often impossible through the usual club channels, since demand is so high. And the market is flooded with illegal resellers. But I work with an official, registered broker who has contracts with many English clubs to offer both tickets and VIP deals called “hospitality” packages.
Why Are Tickets So Hard To Get?
The Premier League is the most-watched league in the world, and the stadiums are not that big. This creates incredible demand for tickets. And since clubs (rightly in my opinion) prioritize long-time supporters, first-time visitors like us are simply shut out from the normal ticket-buying process.
What's a Hospitality Package?
A hospitality package is simply a seat at a game plus some kind of benefit. This could be a voucher for a stadium or city bus tour, access to a lounge that's not available to the general public, or a full-on meal and reception before or after the game.
What does it cost?
This is a seemingly simple question with no simple answer. That’s because the price depends entirely on which teams are involved and where the game is happening. Two top clubs going at it will be hundreds of dollars, but if even one of them is less known, prices drop quite a bit. Read more about hospitality costs here.
How It Works
Prices on these vary from game to game and package to package, but the way it works is this:
You tell me which game(s) you're interested in.
I research the options and send you a quote with all the options; availability is as of that date, and prices are guaranteed for seven days.
If you would like, we jump on the phone to talk details.
When you’re ready to buy, I send you a Paypal invoice, which you can pay with Paypal or a credit/debit card.
Once you pay that invoice, the sale is final – no refunds – unless of course the package you want sold out before we could reserve it.
A couple of days before the game, your tickets are either delivered to your UK hotel or emailed out, depending on the club’s policy.
You get a copy of The Groundhopper’s Guide to Soccer in England.
