Burnley are one of the ultimate examples of a traditional club playing in an old-fashioned football ground in a town that has supported it for generations. And while they are in the Championship for the 2022-23 season, they are doing very well there and are on course to be back in the Premier League in the 2023-24 season.

Our founder and owner, Paul Gerald, has made two trips to Burnley — both to see 3-0 losses, we’re afraid. But we love the place (and hope we are welcome back!), and we will share all the knowledge Paul gathered from those trips — and from seeing more than 200 games around the UK and Europe — from how to get there to where grab a pregame pint, and what else to see around town.

His first Burnley game was in 2014, when he got to know the community and stadium, walking along canals and chatting with locals. The second game, in 2018, he took the scenic bus ride from Manchester, visited the Singing Ringing Tree in the hills outside town, and stopped into the Royal Dyche Pub, where a local actually recognized him!
