Everton to leave Goodison Park following the 2024-25 season

Everton will move into their new stadium prior to the start of the 2025-26 season

As of August 2025, and for the first time since 1892, Everton will not be playing its home games at Goodison Park. Everton confirmed in December that the 2024-25 season would be the club’s last season played at their historic Goodison Park.

Everton has been building its new stadium since July 2021, and it has been confirmed that it will be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season. The new stadium will have a capacity of 53,000, increasing the capacity from Goodison by over 13,000. The project has cost more than £550m and is expected to be completed by late 2024. The location of the new stadium is at Bramley-Moore Dock, 2 miles from Goodison Park.

Goodison Park is one of the oldest stadiums in England and is now part of the new trend of old, historic stadiums being replaced by modern, flashy stadiums that lack character and charm. We have put together a list of these great old English football grounds that you should hit before they are gone.
