New English Soccer Fan Chat: <br>Steve of Millwall FC

One of the more memorable nights of my English football groundhopping adventures was December 29, 2017, when I saw QPR play Millwall in The Den.

You can read about My Night in the Den if you don’t mind some rather severe cursing and irrational human behavior. But the night started on a very pleasant note, when I was sat down in a lovely fish and chips place called The Express Fish Bar, and a couple of Millwall supporters asked to use the empty chairs at my table.

When the dad recognized my Portland Timbers hat, that only made it better.

Turns out this was Steve and Luke, both also serious groundhoppers, and later they would even join us as club ambassadors on a Groundhop Soccer Tour. Now, a little over three years later, Steve has come on for our latest English Football Fan Chat to talk all about Millwall — the Old Den, the New Den, the club, his highs and lows supporting them, and their reputation for being rough and rowdy.

We also discuss some of his favorite non-league grounds around London, and I even get to slip in some Timbers Army footage!

Previous Fan Chats include Leicester City and Leeds United.

Enjoy. And thanks again to Steve for coming on!
