Which Premier League ticket sites are authorized to sell tickets?

This is a question which haunts Premier League fans from all over the world. Since it is very difficult, bordering on impossible, to buy Premier League tickets from the actual clubs, which sites can you trust for ticket purchases?

Basically, Premier League tickets — as opposed to hospitality packages, which we will get to — are distributed by the clubs in three stages:

1. To season-ticket holders
2. To club members, often through a lottery or on a loyalty points basis.
3. To the general public, if any remain. This is called “General Sale.”

General Sale never happens for Premier League tickets, because demand is so great. Season ticket holders and members snap up all the tickets.

But much of that demand comes from unauthorized resellers who create fake accounts and design software bots to hoover up tickets, which are then resold on unauthorized ticket sites like the ones listed at PremierLeague.com. Such reselling is against UK law and club policy, but all these sites are based outside the UK, hence the law doesn’t apply. And clubs simply can’t keep up with such advanced software and techniques.

Clubs do try to fight this, and occasionally delete thousands of these fake accounts. But they are probably re-created the next day.

Where to Buy Authorized Premier League Tickets or Hospitality?

If you want to see a Premier League game, be legal, and avoid the risk of being ripped off, there are three options:

1. Get a club membership and hope for the best.

Are There Authorized Premier League Ticket Resellers?

Yes. These are companies which sign contracts with the clubs and receive up to a couple of hundred tickets and/or hospitality packages to every home game. They are usually listed on the club’s website, even if at times the staff working in the ticket office or stadium do not understand that they exist, or at least don’t know exactly who they are.

Those authorized ticket resellers, in turn, often sell through registered sales agents, who can access the tickets held by the resellers and sell those on to the public. These could be travel agencies, corporate event planners, credit card companies, etc.
