This Shop in Manchester is Football Shirt Heaven

If old football shirts happen to be your thing, then no place can compare with the Classic Football Shirts Manchester shop.

Rack after rack of football shirt joy!

There are many ways to be into football. You can play it, watch it on TV, support your club in person, write about it, read about it, obsess over transfer rumors, learn songs, or (my favorite) go groundhopping and explore the world through the lens of football.

You can also be into the shirts.

There are long threads on Twitter and other social media about primary kits, away kits, third kits and all the included details: hoops or no, collars or no, who’s the sponsor, what are the socks like, and so on. People argue and fret over stripes, sleeves, stars, and all sorts of other details I can’t even track.

For those people, the website classicfootballshirts.co.uk, which claims to have the world’s largest collection of football shirts, must be some kind of online Mecca.

Well, if you’re a member of the shirt brigade, and you happen to find yourself in Manchester, they now have a shop in the center of town in Barton Arcade, Deansgate.

The Man U rack.

They are certainly loaded with various Manchester tops, both red and blue. Likewise for top European clubs and various stars. But it isn’t just Europe. Old school New York Cosmos Pele shirt? Check. The US Men’s National Team and its Worst Shirt Ever entry? I’m afraid so.

Worst shirt ever — and it’s £250!

The store is about a 10-minute walk from Manchester Victoria Station. Definitely worth a visit!
