NICKNAMES: The Bees, which came about in the 1890s because students from Borough Road College came out to support a classmate playing at Brentford. They started their school cheer, which was “Buck up, Bs,” and it stuck.
History
The club was founded in 1889 but didn’t make the Football League until 1920, when they came in with 20 other clubs from the Southern League to form the new Third Division. Brentford Community Stadium replaced the lovely old Griffin Park, which was a big reason to catch a game at Brentford.
