The game I went to was the opener of the 2023-24 Premier League season, when Manchester City came to town. The visitors and defending treble-winners laid a pretty good whipping on Burnley, 3-0, but that didn’t make seeing a game at Burnley any less fun.

The game was on television in the US and the UK, so we even had front-row seats to the pre- and postgame television operations. Right there in front of us was Gary Neville of Sky Sports and the whole team from NBC’s coverage: Rebecca Lowe, Tim Howard, Robbie Earl and Robbie Mustoe.

Here’s a photo gallery from the day. Note that, yes, the pitch is actually a tiny bit above your feet, but I have to say, looking up at Pep Guardiola and across the goal the Manchester City fans was pretty cool!
