On June 18, we will know the Scottish fixtures by matchweek, but not the actual days and times of each game. This is affected by numerous factors. These include mainly television, but also European fixtures and the Scottish Cup.

2026-27 Scottish Premiership Season Start and End Date

The 2026-27 Scottish Premiership season will start on August 1, 2026.

The season will end on May 16, 2027.

The annual Scottish season split will occur after the weekend of April 10-11. Fixtures resume two weeks later. But what is the Scottish season “split”?

When are International Breaks in the 2026-27 Season?

There is a slight change to the international breaks for 2026-27. Instead of three one-week breaks in the fall, there will be one two-week break and one one-week break — so no league games on the weekends of September 26, October 3, and November 14. There is also a break the weekend of March 27.

Five Scottish teams will play in the various UEFA competitions in the 2026-27 season: the Champions League, the Europa League, and the Conference League. The exact breakdown depends on the final season standings and who wins the Scottish Cup.
