When do the 2026-27 fixtures come out for the top football (soccer) leagues around Europe?

Here is when the 2026-27 fixtures are likely to be released across Europe’s top football leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and Scottish Premiership.

Soccer travelers — aka “Groundhoppers” — need a practical, league-by-league guide to fixture release timing, season start windows, international breaks and more.

For 2026-27, some leagues have already confirmed season start dates, but not every league has confirmed the exact day the full fixture list will be published.

So if you want to watch soccer live in the UK or Europe, when do you book flights, hotels, and backup plans without getting burned by later changes?

European Soccer Schedules, 2026-27: Key Points to Know

Most major European leagues’ fixtures (calendars) are released in June or early July.

Al European soccer seasons start in August and end in May.

Even after fixtures release day, TV selections, cup draws, and European competition can still move matches (Related: Why do Premier League Games Get Rescheduled?).

2026-27 Fixture Release Dates by League

Most of these are estimates, based on previous seasons, but we will update them as we find them out for real.

  • Premier League Fixtures: June 19 (official) — more on Premier League
  • English Football League Fixtures: Late June
  • Scottish Premiership Fixtures: Late June
  • Spanish La Liga Fixtures: Late June to early July — more on Spain
  • Italian Serie A Fixtures: Early June — more on Italy
  • German Bundesliga fixtures: Late June — more on Germany
  • French Ligue 1 Fixtures: Late June

2026-27 European Football Season Dates

These are a good bit more firm than the fixtures release dates.

  • English Premier League Season Dates: August 22 to May 30.
  • English Community Shield Game: August 16 in Cardiff, Wales — not at Wembley Stadium as usual.
  • English Carabao Cup Dates: August 7 to February 28.
  • English FA Cup Final: May 15, 2027.
  • English Football League Season Dates: August 14 to May 8, then the promotion playoffs.
  • Football League Promotion Finals: May 29-31, 2027 at Wembley Stadium.
  • Scottish Premiership Season Dates: August 1 to May 16. The Scottish season split will be in mid-April.
  • Spanish La Liga Season Dates: Mid-August to late May
  • Italian Serie A Season Dates: August 23 to May 27
  • German Bundesliga Season Dates: Mid-August to mid-or late May
  • French Ligue 1 Season Dates: Mid-August to mid-or late May

2026-27 Champions League Dates

The draw for the 2026-27 Champions League League Stage will be held August 27, 2026.

Champions League 2026-27 League Stage Dates

These are all Tuesday and Wednesday nights, with the one exception listed below.

  • September 15–17
  • September 29–30
  • October 20–21
  • November 3–4
  • November 24–25
  • December 8–9
  • January 19–20
  • January 27: Wednesday, everybody plays the same day.

Champions League 2026-27 Knockout Dates

Again, all Tuesdays and Wednesdays, except the final, which is on Saturday.

  • Playoffs: February 16-17 and 23-24
  • Round of 16: March 9-10 and 16-17
  • Quarterfinals: April 6-7 and 13-14
  • Semifinals: April 27-28 and May 4-5
  • 2026-27 Champions League Final: May 29, 2027, in Madrid, Spain.

2026-27 Europa League and Conference League Dates

Basically, the Europa and Conference League games are the same weeks as all the above, just on Thursdays.

International Breaks During the 2026-27 Football Season

The following weekends will see all top European soccer leagues with no games, due to international breaks.

  • September 26-27, 2026
  • October 3-4, 2026
  • November 14-15, 2026
  • March 27-28, 2027
