Paul’s Groundhopping Plans for 2023-24

Well, unless something major changes, my 2023-24 groundhopping run is complete. But I did finish the 92 this season as planned!

Last season’s tally was 65 games, adding 10 to my UK grounds list and leaving me at 85 of the current season’s 92 league clubs. Thirty-one of those 65 games were in Europe, adding 25 new grounds to that list, as well.

All told, as of the start of the 2023-24 season, I had been to 229 games at 134 different grounds around the UK and Europe.

2023-24 Groundhopping

  • August 5: Accrington Stanley 3-0 Newport County for ground #86.
  • August 6: Leeds 2-2 Cardiff City to check out our Leeds hospitality option.
  • August 8: Wrexham 0-0 Wigan, with the home team advancing on penalty kicks. I managed to buy a Wrexham ticket with a membership. That was ground #87.
